Gloss black side bars lost their shine

Anyone experienced their gloss black side bars loosing their glossyness?
Think it may have been the polish guys washing my van and using that spray stuff. Suppose it's my fault for being lazy and getting them to wash it in the first place. This also happened to my business partners roll bars on his Amarok

I dont know what some of these car wash places use but i had my T4 cleaned by one of these road side wash places a few years ago and what ever it was burned my paint top coat off the bonnet and front wings . Never again !

They use TFR or traffic film remover, or the like, but in a strong mix, this stuff is acid basically.. Try compounding your bars, followed by a wax.
