Genuine Vw Parts?

Evening all,

as has been discussed in detail in various threads, my Timing belt will be due soon. As the prices vary, it got me thinking about the parts. Some garages use genuine VW parts or you can source the parts from different motor factors.

Those parts differ in makes and prices and from what I can gather timing belt kits for the T6 are either Gates or Dayco. So are genuine VW Parts made by Gates or Dayco, or I am talking absolute nonsense? As Dayco or Gates kits are considerable cheaper from various motor factors.

Any guidance welcome.

Sorted, thanks guys. Gates Timing belt kit and water pump fitted for £210 using my local garage. Thanks everyone.

Don't forget auxiliary bet and possibly tensioner.

My other car runs a Rover K series engine and Gates are the recommended timing belts to use. I’d be happy using them on any vehicle.
