Gearbox replacement 5 speed to 6 speed

Only thing I've heard about gearboxes failing on 5spd is on re mapped engines that have been done incorrectly, too much torque low in the rev range.

Do you not need to enter a security code in the ECU before it will accept any change in coding?

I've read rumors of 5sp gearboxes failing, but I've never met anyone or seen anyone where it has failed.

I've heard the chat too but the only 5spd that I actually know of that failed was pre 2L CR engine. I think ones that fail are often long in the tooth, abused, or are made to suffer a bad remap......or a combination.

Driveshaft spline wear seems to be more of an issue.

Just transcoding from 5sp to 6sp will definitely not work. A 6sp has never been installed on a SAAB engine in my life. In order for the block to accept the encoding, it is necessary to change your motor to CAAC, but for this you will need to change the power class in IMMO, and then re-bind the key to the shield and ECU.
This is about the procedure I went through when I installed DSG instead of 5sp.
The whole procedure was described in my flight log on DRIVE2.ru

I apologize in advance for my English, I am writing through a translator.
