Garage Invoice Charging

I've just gone through some garage invoices from 2022 and 2023 and only now noticed that we have been charged for the following Renew CAM shaft belt and tensioning rollers & renew water pump on each of the invoices. Is there any redress with this with the garage or are we too late to bring this to the attention of the garage, not sure what to do. Obviously from now on I will be paying a lot more attention to what they are charging me for. TIA

Are the invoice numbers the same?

Are there significant charges next to the work specified?

Could be a quick check and a lube on one and the full job on the other?

If the place is dodgy enough to charge you twice it's unlikely you'll get any redress. Otherwise I'd imagine they'll comp you for future work perhaps...

They should be asking you to approve any extra work prior to it taking place. If you take your van for a routine service you don’t expect to be invoiced for anything other than that.

Surely the amount they are charging would be noticeable, what i mean is yearly stuff like service & MOT is normally a few hundred quid but add a cambelt and waterpump to that and your into 4 figure sums !!

Just spoken to them said it was a stand alone job so something we asked for, the problem is as it was so long ago they and we can’t remember. Will just have to put it down to experience although it leaves a bitter taste.

Invoices different numbers, they said it was a standalone job request. The problem is, it was so long ago I can’t remember. Just have to put it down to experience and keeping a better track on things, that’s the problem with busy lives.

Any time we put the van in for something it’s expensive so didn’t pay any attention. Our fault, one we will not be making again.

I’d challenge it whether you can remember it or not. Why would you ask for the same job to be done twice? Even if you did they can see on their records that it had already been done and they should advise against repeating it.

Change garage, Transporters aren’t the cheapest vehicle to run and the current garage isn’t doing you any favours.
