Front Drivers Seat Belt Buckle Pre-tensioner

Hello all, my new T6 has just been in for some warranty work and they have been working under the drivers seat. The seat belt buckle has retracted into the seat by a couple of inches, they are going to look at it for me. However, this happened on my previous van - once when I removed the drivers seat, and once when the passenger seat wasn't quite clicked into place and when I set off, it locked in place with an almighty bang and the belt buckle retracted. There's obviously some kind of pretensioner there, but can they be reset ? and should they be this sensitive in the first place? Don't really want my fingers near these when I eventually install my swivels. Thanks for any advice.

Hey, a year ago I know but did you get this sorted pls?
Hello, yes it was sorted…..it hadn’t retracted, they had put the drivers seat so high the buckle had appeared to really low. I know, I should’ve noticed it my self but in my defence it took the technician at least a few minutes 🤣 . That’ll Teach me to jump to conclusions, although in my previous van it had been triggered somehow. They were working under the seat to try and fix a damaged connector for the rear view camera….a new cable was required but all the dash needed to come out to replace it, they wouldn’t “repair” it. With it being a new van I didn’t let them and repaired the break myself. On stripping back the felt covering on the loom it was apparent the cable must have been crushed during manufacture, not installation, as it revealed more marks on the wire, it’s amazing it worked at all to begin with. Thanks for getting back to me.

Thanks 'Groovy' glad it's all sorted. Got a bit of a problem here with a locked passenger seatbelt at a festival ...
