Finally Got Round To Fitting The New Sportline Bars

That’s a lot of money for not a top notch job.
I took him round the van when come to pick it up and he had missed stone chips made him look a right chimp , I supplied the chipex kit so no excuse .
Won't be getting my buisness again or recommended.
Apart from that the van does look good and alot easier to clean

My problem is being without the van for 3 days plus getting back and forth to Tom.:(
That's what I thought going all the way to Worcester getting the train back then going to pick it up 3 days later.
Dad borrowed me his car all week and come with me to drop it off and collect

Surely @Tourershine would assist a fellow member in need @Mfwic ?. Especially as thats what he does all day...for a living..

I'm always happy to help out a member, however my business has nothing to do with detailing cars or vans. We specialise in restoring Caravan and Motorhome surfaces, and although the principal is similar, it's totally different surfaces. We work with fibreglass, plastic, and enamel coated aluminium, not painted and lacquered finishes.

I have no problem applying a protection to a T6, but correcting the paint is certainly not my forte.

Edit: just in case that last comment is misunderstood. I'd happily help out another member applying a sealer, but only if that vehicle was fully corrected first.
I'd never apply a sealer over a poor finish, even if I did it for free. It's just not how I would work.

It does have a few swirl marks but I like the ceramic coating as it helps to keep the dirt off. Living in the countryside surrounded by farms the van gets filthy very quickly. Whilst I envy the shine on your van and others, I'm more looking to help keeping it clean and making it easier to clean. Paint correction is not a big thing, that said, will the swirls stand out more if i get a ceramic coating applied without it being machine polished first?
I have very little knowledge of detailing works.

It's not so much that they will stand out more, it's more they will be sealed in behind any coating, which on a dark colour like yours, might annoy you.
I'd personally be very wary of any good detailer that's happy to apply a sealer without correcting any issues first, this just isn't the way we'd carry out any of our work, and I'm sure that's the way any good car detailer would work, but I might be wrong.
The thing is with good detailers, they want to seperate themselves from the poor quality jobs carried out by dealerships and cheap car wash gangs, but if a guy was to apply a ceramic coating without preping properly first, then they are not really any different from the monkeys that do the jobs poorly in the first place.

It's a hard call. You want the benefits of a sealer, but are not fussed if they correct first and you might find most good guys won't carry out this type of work because they are busy enough with those that want it done properly, and why risk a reputation over a single poor finish.

Bars look good @andythom188 Have you got any pics with the lights on? I’ve had a set for almost as long as you but not sure they’ll look as good on my silver van, the novelty of the puddle lights might just convince me to fit them!

Thanks for your advice I have a better understanding now. I'll get it done properly.

Good call.
Just understand that throwing big money at a full correction and sealant will only ever be as good as the aftercare applied.
For example, if you use a car wash gang or your dealer washes it, they can undo all the good work done by the detailer and you've wasted your money. As you probably already know, we have the hardest colours to maintain, and BlackBerry is no better than Black in this respect. A poor wash with old, incorrect or damaged equipment will marr paintwork very quickly. My Advice is to speak to a good detailer. If they are any good, they will spend time explaining how to maintain their work, or even talk you out of having it done depending on the answers you give them to their questions if that makes sense.
Lastly, if you go down that route, I bet it will transform the paint finish and look far better than it did when it was new.
