Factory microphone- always on ?

Hi all,

I found out the factory microphone in the head liner above the driver is always on not just when I am using BT calls or press the command button on the steering wheel.

Can someone else try tapping the mic and see if it's also always on? Engine running or on ACC of course!

wasn't this a feature for aiding speaking to people in the rear . . ?

via the MIC and Speakers?

Yea that sounds like the voice enhancer to allow the rear passengers to hear you better. You can turn it off by press the the symbol top right on the head unit.

Its a highline, I have the speak button on the steering wheel for about 10 preset commands navigation, traffic, call, etc .

Never thought about people in the rear, will look for the off button but tbh have never seen it. I have the discovery media all singing dancing head unit.

I noticed its on because due to fan on max and vent angle caused a huge rumble sound from the rear
