External antenna - Advice please!

I have a 5G router (ZTE MU5001) that is unlocked & I've added a couple of little TS9 connected aerials to it:-

My questions are, do I need to consider an external mounted Antenna to escape the Faraday cage effect of a big metal box on rubber wheels? Is the Faraday cage effect as catastrophic as one is lead to believe? If an external hardwired antenna is going to change my life, then which one do I need to look at buying and installing?!

I have discovered that there are adapters to go from the varying aerial connectors supplied on antennas to the TS9 outputs/inputs on my router.

Appreciate your guidance!

I also have an unlocked MU5001with an 80gb monthly SIM card.
I recently bought a Netgear omnidirectional MIMO antenna which is placed inside the zipped side mesh window in the raised poptop. The antenna lead is about 1m long which is enough from where I keep the router. There's probably a lot more options out there but this one works for me.

I have NETGEAR Nightgear. And I fitted two PUK antennas that work in a MIMO configuration utilising the two TS9 inputs with SMA connections on the PUKS through very short conversion adapter patchleads also purchased from the same company. I have sprayed mine to match the roof colour,

They are low profile and give a great signal and significantly improve my data connection vs my phone on the inside of the van.
