Engine issues

This is my first VW Kombi, only 2 moths old with 950 miles on it waiting for a low-loader to collect it, not impressed, it all started with the auto start/stop having a mind of its own, the vehicle started to idle around 950/1000, it then moved on becoming erratic with not a pleasant sound coming from the top of the engine, fuel consumption had dropped to around 28mpg with no cargo prior to the erratic idling, when dropping down to 2nd gear coming up to junctions the vehicle would bolt forward. The local garage was called out to look at it, an error code was found along with diesel in the engine oil, I am not sure what concerns me most, no dashboard warning lights or the diesel in the engine oil. Has anyone experienced any of these issues?

Injector seal/ failure allowing fuel to get in the oil.
Had it on a Mitsubishi, came close to running away.

Thanks for the info, will post update once VW has had a look at it.
