My cousin was blind.Good to hear that you are looking to rehome a withdrawn Guide dog puppy. It is the nature of the beast that only a number of the pups pass full training for a number of reasons health, nervousness, can't wear rthe harness, and if they are considered simply not to be happy as the role isn't for them. Our pup Huxley goes Into training 3rd Nov and he has 4-6 weeks for them to decide he can get over the small amount of mouthing he does (only with guide dog personel strangely) If he gets withdrawn he will come back to us for the next decision. A lot of puppy raisers take on the withdrawn ones that they raised.
Don't take it personally ( I did it when first getting involved) but it will help when talking to Guide dogs use the term withdrawn not failed.
Ther is one in our area withdrawn after being in service apparently he nicked a bacon sandwich in costa and led his owner into the road when he shouldn't. He is the most beatiful placid Black lab.

He had a few guide dogs.
One of them called Luis stole a cream egg from the corner shop and my cousin gave him a bollocking.
So Luis walked my cousin into a lamppost on the way home.
My neighbour just got his new black lab puppy called Barry. Who’s a future guide dog.
It’s his 3rd. He has them for a year before they start their training.
I couldn’t do it.
They would have to fight me to get him back
