Hi All
Hoping to extract some knowledge for you guys regarding the DSG software.
I appreciate it has drive and sport where it will change automatically, but what about when you switch it into triptronic?
This is designed to act like a manual, but does it still change in auto mode if you try and do something like 8000 rpm in first, or just go past the engine rev limit in any gear?
I would imagine it does, but just looking for clarification.
Many thanks

I'm no expert but essentially yes. It will not allow you to be in a gear that will either stall the engine or over rev it and will change automatically into a suitable gear to ensure that doesn't happen even when in manual mode.

Agreed it will always over ride you to stop excessively high or low revs

Never tried in my T6 DSG but can confirm my A6 S-tronic changed up at 6K in manual/tiptronic mode for the reasons of stopping bits flying out the side of the block!

This is correct, however if you want, with TVS DSG software the manual mode can be adapted to be fully manual so not auto change up, it will just bounce off the limiter. It will automatically change down though
