No my vehicle is registered in the UK

But UK VW have just changed the rules saying they're now going with a mileage more closely related to the 60,000 kilometres that is the recommended mileage in Europe

Prior to May 2026 they rounded this up to 40,000 miles

By reducing the service schedule without providing notice, VW have effectively screwed everyone whose mileage, at the point of change, was already above the new limit, but below the old limit - effectively a constructive denial of warranty. That sounds like a very suspect practice and therefore one that is open to legal challenge.

It seems wrong that VW can alter service intervals without notice to owners. The other question is why a relative small change in the service interval would result in a failure very close to the original 40000 interval. For repair options have a look at Milta Technology. I hope you get sorted

Yeah they've had it since January

It was a bit suspicious as when I'd ring up the warranty people for info they said no claim had been submitted

The garage were telling me the warranty people were saying the evidence I'd supplied wasn't enough evidence and it was only on May 14th they decided to submit the claim

They picked the van up on the 13th of January
