Dealer just cancelled my DSG service appt as apparently there is a shortage of DSG oil and they can’t get any….

Originally they said needed changing at 37k miles and it’s bob on at 37k and I have a big tow journey in two weeks (600 mile round trip)

Get an email stating that it won’t affect your warranty.

A quick check on Opie Oils website proves they are talking out of their arse, ask for an explanation.

The last engine oil change I had at a dealer (pre-paid package on a used van) the oil came out of a from a 206L drum with the grade on it and nothing else, certainly didn’t look like VW branded.

This is true. Dsg oil is in quarantine due to the possibility of it coming through Russia. Genuine oil is the only way forward for the boxes

Won’t be a vw barrel it will more than likely be quantum which is vw / Audi group oil

Main dealer, will only use vw branded oil
Not in my place at least . While I can easily find VW 0W30 LL3 motor oil on reatail market , they used and invoiced Castrol in my last service . It is a huge VAG dealer.

I went to another vw main dealer and they had no problem sourcing it, problem is a 6 week wait to book me in. I’m having to go to my local Ford Main dealer instead
