Hi All
I’m getting increasingly fed up with the DSG in my T6 Caravelle 199. It has the 7 speed DQ500 DSG and I think it’s got to be the worst gearbox I have ever had in a car. Pulling away is either very delayed or snatches and spins the wheels and reversing up a hill is bordering between dangerous and comical as the van goes between reving lots and shooting back or rolling forward! It’s just turned 18k miles so I don’t thing there is any wear on the box. I reset the adaption values which improved things marginally for a while but we are back to square 1 and my wife won’t now drive it as it’s so bloody awful to get the pulling away right! It’s still under warranty with VW as we bought it approved used but from research this seems like common behaviour for these gearboxes? We had a loaner 25 plate multivan with DSG for a while and that was night and day better!
Anyhow I am hoping that a remap like TVS would sort this but am not sure and if I did that first it would no doubt invalidate the remaining 9 months vw warranty we have on it.
Any recommendations from those that have corrected this? Will a TVS remap sort it or should I take it back to VW and tell them something must be wrong with it?
Finally any recommendations for who can complete a remap either remotely (if possible) or up I the North West/Cheshire area.
Cheers
