Dripping from pop top?

This is such a trivial, yet such an annoying issue. When it rains, there is a loud dripping noise which sounds like it comes from the back of the Storm pop top (oh the irony of the name!). It’s right above my head and means I’ve had to use ear plugs every time it rains. I think it’s the run-off hitting the top of the van, and by putting the door mat up there on the back of the van, it reduces the noise to almost un noticeable. That’s not a pretty or long term solution though, anyone got a proper solution? Cheers.

It looks as if the rubber edging isn’t properly pushed up at that bit.
Maybe try pushing it up back into position. It might move the run off point to a different less nosy position.
You could test it by pouring water on the roof to see where it runs off.
Failing that maybe a high level rear spoiler would make a difference.

Mine does the same got used to it after nearly 7 years.
The water has to drip off somewhere.
I suppose putting a sponge on the roof would help you.

Small flap of tarp or awning skirt and 3 clothes pegs ....again not pretty but might give a path for run off rather than drip drip drip!

After having another look my idea of adjusting the rubber edging might actually work.
If you look at the corner you can see a couple drips. If the rain ran off here it would miss the top of the van dripping off.
But that low point before the corner drips from there would land on top of the van.
Adjusting the rubber edging so it drips off the actual corner and not before could solve the problem.
It’s worth a try with a jug of water on a step ladder.

Thanks all, lots of good ideas
I am back home now so once it stops tipping down with rain (pouring water on it is better than getting soaking wet! ), I will get the step ladder out & experiment. I will provide updates in due course…..

Shan’t tell my husband that ⬆️ He thinks that the van is a massive costly mistake & having to put up with the dripping just adds to the ‘why?’

Do it when it's raining a hose will never imitate natural rain it may drip in different places when drizzling or heavy rain just put your waterproofs on your be fine.
Neighbours might think you've gone mad though

Good point & with plenty more heavy rain forecast today, I just need to pull myself together & do it
The neighbours know to expect the unexpected from me

Have a go at pushing the rubber up so the corner is the lowest point to start with. Even if you have to pull the corner down a bit.
Might be an easy fast fix.
Certainly where I would start.
