DPF regen

That'll work nicely with Carista, currently £22.49 on the 'bay. Cheapest I've seen
I use this to keep an eye on my what my DPF filter is doing in conjunction with CarPlay:

At least you have some clues as to when it’s going to regen from the info shown on the app.
Decided DPF monitor is definitely something worth investing in...the only VAG one for Android seems to be the Darren Fonloil one on play. I assume you would use that in conjunction with Carista? Would you need to subscribe to Carista or just purchase the OBD?... Sorry for dumb qs, never used a diagnostic tool before.

I took out a black Friday deal on Carista subscription, £29 which covers me until April '27. Carista has been useful for me over the past years, to keep an eye on foul play by the van and tweak settings. I would think it would work as an active OBD without subscription, but I've never used another app with a rolling sub on Carista. I plug it in every month to check van health! You can of course pay £15 on any month to use occasionally. That was my plan until that special deal came out.

MS Control DPF Monitor, simple and effective monitor.

I'm almost tempted myself at £7.49 for the VAG DPF app, I just don't want to leave my Carista plugged in all the time because of a drain on the SB. That's where the EVO is more considerate allowing you to leave it plugged in without the permanent drain. I've got enough parasitical drainage going on without another as well. Reviews are pretty good on the app though.
Do I need it? No, be useful though... pint and a quarter of Guinness?

As a first entry into diagnostics I’ve gone for the Carista evo + the VAG DPF monitor app. As a 70% city driver in my T6 camper, £50 seems a no brainier to assist in trying to head off costly DPF issues.
