I've always been happy to just use the built in stop (grey thing at the top centre of the door). The fridge has never been smelly (if, indeed, that's what you're worried about) and I've never noticed any rattles coming from it - I did used to close the door on a small piece of white foam when in transit to stop any noise but don't bother with it any more.

Back to the 80’s caravan style! Love it Dell!Sponge and a strip of gaffer tape
Don’t see any sort of metal clip?Try moving the metal clip on the body of the fridge. It will wiggle left and right and pop open to allow an air gap when the door is shut.
Don’t seem to have this either?Mine has a silver half-moon in the body of the fridge, above the door, labelled VENT. Push that to the left and it latches the fridge door ajar.
Tried that but then if I don’t drive the van for a couple of days the LB runs down!We never turn ours off, emergency 'rations' kept in there! Prosecco and Guinness!
This might just be the only solution!Sponge and a strip of gaffer tape
Solar panel/bigger solar panel?Don’t see any sort of metal clip?

Don’t have solar and (this issue aside) don’t feel the need to go down that route. I have an EcoFlow power station and EcoFlow alternator charger to keep it topped up.Solar panel/bigger solar panel?
Is your fridge running off the EcoFlow then? No leisure battery at all?Don’t have solar and (this issue aside) don’t feel the need to go down that route. I have an EcoFlow power station and EcoFlow alternator charger to keep it topped up.

No it runs from the LB. I just mean that I have no need of solar given the EcoFlow. Is your fridge running off the EcoFlow then? No leisure battery at all?
A bit of solar would keep the LB happy though...?No it runs from the LB. I just mean that u have no need of solar given the EcoFlow.
Ayjay you are the winner of this thread and I am a complete dopeI've just re-read the title and see it says Dometic CR50x rather than CRX50 which is my fridge. TBH, I've never heard of the former (but that doesn't mean much!) but I did google it and an 'Alpicool CR50x' showed up. Don't take this the wrong way but are you sure yours is not one of them?
FWIW, this is the locking mechanism on mine:
