Door latch striker plates

Just fitted some anodised red striker plate covers to the van.
DON’T !
The lower door bolt scrapes the bottom half of them.
Bought at the Telford show for £10.
Waste of money.

Possibly the double-sided tape is too think?
Mine don't scrape after six years in place.

They were flush to the paint.

What was holding them in place?
I seem to remember mine touched, so I removed the double-sided tape and used thinner 3m trim tape
