Hi Folks

FML, in this windy weather I just opened the door on the van which caught the wind and wedged itself (on a slope and low car) onto my car door! So I have a dent (nasty one!) and quite a few chips of paint off the van door on the lip!

Car I know how to get fixed but chips on van is there a way for me to fix i.e touch up? Don't want bodge and last time I used a touch up pen didn't go well! Are they better now?

Thank you

Nick

Poor fella . . . your own car too =[

seems like its touch-up pen time . . . .

or

get some OEM colour spary-can paint and a small brush and build up some layers and try and repair it yourself . . . .

or

Mobile repair. with the likes of these type of guys www.chipsaway.co.uk (Never used them, but seem them around a lot)

The vans have galvanized bodies so the chip should not rust unless the protective coating has been damaged.

If your able to upload a few good photos @RattyMcClelland is an independent chips away bodywork guru and maybe able to add his opinion on the best course of action.

Thank you for the replies! I've been thinking about how useless I am at this kind of thing and flash backs on previous motors which as mentioned above can look worse.

I think I'll wait to get a couple more scratches (have a couple) and then get an expert in for a few hours.

Chips I can live with, dents I can't! Car in tomorrow and now drinking heavily :)

If their spray cans are anything to go by, don’t touch the Halfords Reflex Silver. I know it’s said to be a hard match, but it was nothing like silver.
