Do you have a T6.1 with faulty App-Connect?

23 T6.1 here and I use CarPlay and Apple Music as well as calls and Waze and always a DPF monitor and I don’t have any issues. In fact I never use the Radio or built in nav.

I have the 8” screen I think if that makes a difference.
 
Would you be happy to share their official response? I’ve been trying to get my local dealer to investigate for a year or so and they just keep fobbing me off with the fact that the fault stops whilst investigating….5 mins after driving away, it comes back as I drive home.
I extended my warranty last year so I can hopefully still pursue it and get a solution; not that optimistic to be honest, but having something official that admits there is an issue might help?

I have suffered with cracking and distorted music since I purchased the van in 2021 and have been in dispute with vw since. As they have said they will do nothing to sort the issue I am now dealing with the vehicle ombudsman. Let’s see what happens
Ok the issue has been with the ombudsman for moths now and have come back and said that vw are not under any obligation to fix and say it sounds like a software issue ( which I know and vw do not have a update)🤯. I give up no help for the little guy. I now need to find some one that can see if they can do some sort of update or add a new CarPlay patch in the north London area . Any recommendations would be great.

I have almost given up on this. VW are aware of the issue, according to my dealer. But don’t have a fix. My dealer says there is no point fitting a head unit as it is a software issue and even if they do fit a new head unit the software would be copied across from my head unit so the issue would still be there. :mad:
 
I have been suffering with intermittent connection issues with car play almost like a loose connection issue but I could t figure out why it would go off on a smooth stretch of road. So went through a thorough process of elimination and resetting of the head unit and iPhone. Then I tried different usb c cables. Since plugging the cable in from Apple no issues 🤷‍♂️

T6.1 2020 with 8" touch screen and satnav. Bought the van a few months ago. Online connectivity never worked since I bought it (no satnav, couldn't register as primary user). Took it to VW dealer in Guildford who were worse than useless. Found a VW head unit specialist, SatNav Systems in Surbiton who figured out the problem was a faulty online connectivity unit. They replaced this and everything started working, plus I got the wireless android auto upgrade thrown in which is so much better than needing a cable. Total cost was £2.2k. Luckily I took out a warranty when I bought the van and they covered all the repairs (Formula X from Car Car Plan, definitely would recommend).

SatNav Systems said they are seeing one VW per week with a faulty OCU so this is definitely a known fault.
 
So on my new T6.1, nothing happens at all when i plug in my phone. The head unit is locked in privacy mode, and there is an error on OBD11 saying no communications with the USB external module...yet, i am getting power.

No idea how i am supposed to register the van with no internet access to the car!

When I did mine a few weeks ago, I didn’t plug in my phone, the head unit uses its in-build connectivity and I just followed the onscreen instructions.
Mind you, the dealer (or previous owner) had cleared the memory of previous users ready to start the process.
Not sure if that helps…

Still stuck, i bought a new USB module from VW (as also have a U11B800 error) but still nothing works. Still stuck in stupid privacy mode. Might just upgrade to a decent headunit and get rid of this VW cr*p one
