DMF/Clutch Moan - Supply Chain Issues

Morning All,

It seems VW are having supply issues and despite my van being booked in to have a new DMF/Clutch kit fitted on the 19th Sept (changed due to Queen funeral), I have now been told that there is a UK wide issue getting stocks of one part of the kid. I think they said the slave cylinder.

VW have no idea when this is going to be available but are willing to fit a non-vw part, but I will not get the two year parts/labour warranty. I can to that in a non-VW garage, but I wanted to use VW.

Is anyone else having the same issue or being told the same thing? I don't think it's good enough from VW and the lack of information is wrong. In the meantime I'm moaning to myself and have complained to VW.

This is on top me believing the clutch should not have gone at 50,000 - but that is open to opinion. It's my family car and not used as a commercial vehicle that gets hammered.

Thanks all for letting me get that off my chest.

Gareth

My T6 (2016, 31k miles) failed its MOT yesterday due to a cracked rear spring. Springs are on back order and may be in next week - or may not be
You'd think DMFs, clutches and springs would be in stock for such a common vehicle
:(

Posted in another thread on here - I am now three months waiting for a new clutch from VW. NO sign of the parts coming in.

@La Dodgy Vita There are some suspension specialists on this Forum with boxes full of OEM suspension springs.
I picked up 4 OEM springs, delivery milage for a tenner.

Thanks. My replacement was covered by VW's All In One plan so no cost to me.
I'll probably look at replacing with aftermarket ones before too long as I now don't have a lot of faith in the OEM ones

I had a similar situation when i had a T5. A driveshaft went, and although it was under warranty, they reckoned the item was on 6 weeks back order. I phoned another main dealer , and the first one i phoned had one on the shelf. My dealer had to get it from them.
