Crank seal replacement

Hi DXX,
I've just had my 35k '20 plate 6.1 back from service MOT, with an advisory on the crank seal. Is this something that should be carried out immediately? Can it be monitored by keeping an close eye on the oil level, it hasn't used any?? I was intending to replace the cam belt/water pump at 50k, pretty annoying that something like this should go so early on. Thanks as always to you and all the other knowledgeable folk on this forum.
I would monitor it, occasionally remove the sump cover (if fitted) and the upper timing belt cover to check.
50K is a bit premature for a timing belt / pump renewal service.
Your lucky it didn’t fail MOT, alway worth degreasing the engine prior to an MOT.

Yes it was swift engineering in Westerhope. I fully recommend them
Yeah always used them, just had my glow plugs done and they have advised my crankshaft seal is leaking so started looking about. Wish I could get a alloy one
