Unzippable driveaway Railsail?

No messing with figure 8 strips. No need to remove any pegs. Slack the guy ropes off and unzip it from the van. On return, slide the kador on the van, zip the sail to it and re tension the ropes. Job done

So now,

How much for a zipable male to female kador section?

To interface the female 6mm crail on the van, to the 6mm Male kador on the railsail.

Effectively to replace the fig 8 sections for a zip solutions.

Making it plug and play for anyone.

I'll test it.

Then you sell loads on eBay.

:)

But if you had a male to female strip, you wouldn't need to unzip it. You could just pull it out like a figure 8

That's the problem,

Trying to pull out the whole section, on your own, with the awning/sail under tension. Is a nightmare.

More so for a drive away awning than a railsail.

You solution seems to be a easy way to just zip and go... assuming that I could hold the awning taught with one hand and just zip allone with the other.

I always have issues with the fig8 strips..sliding allong etc.

My plan is two extra guy ropes on the poles nearest the van to hold them upright and support the sail while the van is away

Oztent do that for their tents to attach them to an awning rail....called a caravan connector.
I use one and makes life much simpler when going out for the day.
Like Deaky suggests, just a couple of guys to support the front poles while your out...come back, move the guys, slide the connector on, zip to the tent canopy and re-tension the poles to suit

got a link?

Happy to report it works perfectly. Takes seconds to unzip and put back on again. Had my first drive away yesterday to see the tall ships in Charlestown.

Had to unzip it again this morning for a completely different reason

That looks great. Am I being thick here? Would I have to have a zip sewn into my canopy instead of the kador strip? Or is it essentially a figure of 8 with a zip down the centre?

Umm …..more to buy :)

never mind the attachment I want an RV-4…..

Jeez...

59 !!!!!!

My Outdoor Revolution canopy works like that. Can just see the zip in the zoomed photo.

Can then roll the canopy up to the frame, tie it with velcro, and peg the frame so it’s free standing while we drive off.
