Cooling fan control module fault (Code P194500)

Hi folks.

Glow plug EML is flashing intermittently. Fault code 194500 points to failing cooling fan control module.

The proposed fix is to replace the whole module and fan shroud (they're integrated together - all in one).

Is there a fix that's easier on the wallet? (What's left in it)

Hi.

I've got a P194500 fault code. It started on a long journey last week. I deleted the code and the eml stayed off for the next 500 miles. I'm now getting the light pretty much every journey.
I've checked all the fuses and they're fine. I've tried activating the fan with the code reader and it doesn't work, double checked the code reader actually activates the fan on a friends van and it does.
Just wondered if anyone has had this before? I suspect it's the fan but Id like to be sure.
