How do you get at the head unit / radio in a T6 with a Comfort dash? The recess at the top of the dash is covered with a tilting panel, and there are two screws which seem to do nothing when removed. I'm assuming this unit needs to come out, then the airvent and radio surround can be removed and then (I assume) the screws holding in the unit will be revealed. At least this seems to be the case from the Apline install video, although it just shows the fitter levering out the standard open tray.
For context, we have an Alpine X801D-U head unit which has stopped working for no obvious reason. I happily driving along and it just died. I finally (!!) found the fuse box in the cab, and the infotainment fuse is ok. Resetting the unit did nothing.
I believe there is an in-line fuse for the Alpine and assume I can check that if I can get the set out. All other ideas / thoughts and suggestions on the subject are also welcome!!
