Hi all,

I've just picked up my van at the weekend, it's in desperate need of some reduction in arch gap.

As you can all imagine the bank balance isn't looking great at the moment since purchasing so i'm really looking for some used coilovers to sort the issue for now.

My van is a T30 T6 Kombi, only used as a day van so nothing super heavy in there.

I'd really only like a decent brand of coilover, something like the B14's or anything similar would be considered.

I live up north in Scotland so likely would need postage.

Thanks
Douglas

Hi @dougie1142. If you want a drop on the cheap then maybe you could just change the springs? You can get a decent set for about £200 new. Just don't go too low (40mm or less) otherwise the standard shocks may have your springs clunking over bumps and potholes. Add a decent set of shocks later and you're all set.

What are you using the van for? Why B14's?

It's purely a day van, so it's never that heavy. B14's fit in budget and seem to get a good reputation, but i'm open to other suggestions. Also i won't be going at the lowest setting, probably nearer the higher end of adjustment so SoLow's don't really fit the bill.

I would say dont get B14s. They are outdated now at best. Speak to @BognorMotors , @CRS Performance or @ChrisR (not sure why the last one doesnt work.

Thanks for the heads up, i've also been looking at some ST X available at Transporter HQ, slightly lower price but i've fitted KW based suspension on other vehicles and always been impressed with quality. Also they seem to sit higher on their lowest setting, which may be more beneficial for me in the future.

Well @dougie1142. You started wanting to save a few bob going used and if you follow the advice here you're driving from one country via another to a 3rd to spend around £1600.
Best start doing some overtime mate. :slow rofl:

I've got a set of used Koni/H&R damping rate adjustable coil overs available if you're interested. They've come off a van after about 5000 miles to have Solows fitted so the van could go lower.

This kit will lower between approx 50 and approx 80mm, it is an extremely comfortable kit and has the added bonus of the damping adjustability on the front shocks (adjustable when on the van). Stainless steel front shocks and a genuine threaded body coilover. It's a £1300 kit, but I can do these used ones for £800. PM me if you're interested.

Cheers,

Chris.

It can go crazy but you can pick up some decent stuff here on a budget which is what I did.

40mm drop H&R springs = NEW @ £200
Koni Active Shocks = USED from here @ £320
Set of 20" Rims = USED from here @ £160

Less than £700 all in (shocks fitted by me and a mate at his garage).

Gave me this.

Thanks for the heads up, it's because my username has now changed to The Van Cave

If you end up buying brand new then ST-X is easily the best value for money on the market. There is nothing that can compete with it with regard to the quality of the kit, quality of the ride and price as a combination.

In stock on the shelf and ready to ship, so I could help you with that too.

All the best, Chris.
