Clunky Gear Change

Hi All

I'm getting a clunk going into first gear, and most of the time gear changing is a bit jumpy when going up through the gears. All the gears select seemingly perfectly, clutch point is perfect and no slipping. No DMF rattle or strange noises.

One this I've noticed just recently - if I'm changing gear going round a righthand bend (slowly of course) the notchyness almost completely disappears. Could this be an engine/gearbox mount issue?!

Hope someone might be able to shed some light, or had a similar situation!

To me sounds like the clutch, but might not be anything wrong with it it takes up the slack up in the gear putting it in 1st gear. The Syncro's in these gearboxes don't seem very good, the gears don't just drop in smoothly . most modern cars will change gear without the clutch just by backing off the throttle i wouldn't like to try in in my van.

Notchy 2nd gear

I have the same problem with mine,been like it from new,dealer has fobbed me off too,12000 miles in & still the same. its going back in though..... i cant stand it anymore. The last time my van went back to the dealer the head mechanic/fitter reconed the gear change felt tight so they put new...

Sounds a similar problem to what I experienced with mine last year @bencoleman1988 . A full gearbox rebuild rectified the issue with lots of other parts renewed in the process trying to find the solution, luckily under warranty. This link may or may not be useful. On mine it was reverse and first gear.

ADVICE REQUIRED...inconsistent reverse crunch! Under Warranty.
