Indeed. Personal details are more valuable than tangible assets IMO, but a lot of organisations are still very lax when it comes to data security - at least they are until they've been subjected to a reputation-destroying data breach.

I worked briefly with a banking organisation and, in that highly regulated sector, there are very robust security measures baked-in to their systems from the very earliest system-design stages. I'd like to see any organisation that holds personal data (which is all of them) be subject to the same stringent security requirements.
