Cambelt replacement

Hi everyone, I just purchased a t6 2019, 2.0 diesel
It’s on 83k miles
Should I look into having the cambelt done it hasn’t had one previously and I’m gonna turn it into my own camper van so Ideally I don’t want it blowing up.

Thats still well inside VWs revised official recommendations, but if it were mine I'd be thinking the age and mileage justify it.

You'll sleep very soundly once it's done.

First time for me at next year's service, 40 odd thousand miles and 7 years old... £580 plus a year's inflation at Midland VW, plus a full service. Change out of a grand if I'm lucky...

Official guidelines are now 140k miles to match EU.

But I think I'd be getting it done at 5yrs regardless, with the water pump, and check the crank main seal too.

Check the front crank seal anyway as it is probably already leaking which will mean a belt coming off so makes sense to change it now

ill check that tonight i did notice a slight bit of oil when i looked underneath it

If you put it in a full lock you can see the bottom pulley, can usually see the oil around the sump when they are leaking

VW told me 80k a couple of days ago. They cant make their mind up.
