Cam Belt Change requirement

Think I am just going to replace it in the Autumn this year. That way I can stop thinking about it for a few years

So, this may be a dumb questions, but if you follow VW's new guidance for belt replacement and the belt fails before reaching 140k miles, would VW take any or all responsibility for the consequences?

But if you'd followed the previous guidelines and your cam belt had failed they still wouldn't have accepted responsibility.
