Calor gas bottles

I use Safefill LPG cylinders. Refills are way cheaper than exchange cylinders from Calor and others. Also the cylinders are so light plus being translucent you can easily check the level. By filling your own cylinder you are able to top up at any time. I find this extremely useful especially when in Europe where Autogas is more available than UK

hi,

have you got a link to them and do they power your ring burner?

I would need to measure up but I think these are too wide to fit in my gas locker. I like the idea but happy to stick with Calor really as I don’t need to change anymore

I think for a gas locker designed for Campingaz there are limited options.

I use Leisuregaz 007 (£10 cheaper than a Campingaz refill!) but there are limted dealers, luckily I have one close by. Even those are slightly different, a fraction taller than CGZ.

There is a fixed refillable that looks to be the same size, "Gaslow 2.7kg Refillable LPG Cylinder", but it's going to take a while to make your money back.

Hopefully we won’t need gas this year and then by next year Calor small tanks will be available again. It was a nightmare finding one in high season even when they were supposed to be available!

Our gas just run out while boiling the kettle! We have had it since March 2023 and the start of this debacle. I was worrying about limited supply and (like previous times) having to stop at every outlet I pass for months but I’ve just ordered a 3.9 propane replacement online from Calor delivered (and exchanged) to the house. Cost £33 inc delivery so not cheap but should be good for us for 2 years and saves lots of running around. I was thinking we should replace it before we go to Germany for 3 weeks in the summer so actually it’s perfect timing. I’ll report back as to whether this works out👍
