This is happening at Walesby Forest, Notts on 19-23 August. We are thinking of going before meandering over to visit father-in-law in Lincolnshire.

Just posting to enquire whether any forum members are thinking of going?

Sadly I'll hopefully somewhere on Le Route de Soleil on that weekend trying to make up for 2 years of lost French holidays. ENJOY !

We miss our French holidays but have decided to give them a miss for a years until politics and covid calm down!
Sorry going OT but we have been planning a French trip for the last few years but still reluctant to commit with the way the rules keep changing so like you are giving it a miss again this year. Plus the cost of taking our dog is just gone mental.

We went to Majorca last year, will do again this year, as well as a trip to France. We're not letting things get in the way of what we want to do. If it's a bit more costly or complicated, so be it. We'll adjust our spending elsewhere. If we get stranded somewhere, we'll deal with it. We were flying to Florida on honeymoon on 911, so we've dealt with a little inconvenience.

You’re in “The Pub” so going off topic is highly appropriate!

I didn’t know that the pet passport scheme had gone haywire.

@JOG & @True Romance. We haven't got any animals to worry about at the moment but having had a three week road trip down to the South of France and back last September, we're planning further ones for late Spring/early Summer and September - destinations TBA but could be France again or Spain or Croatia or Greece! The situation changes all the time but the experience last year told us that from a Covid point of view things seemed better in France than the UK and a major plus point was that everywhere was relatively quiet - I say relatively because I'm increasingly finding camping at home to be an unpleasant, overcrowded and expensive proposition plus head south and the decent weather is more or less guaranteed.

This is precisely why we like going to France!!!

That's just down the road from me. Used to spend every summer there as a kid with the cub's and scout's, loved it.
Is this just for c&cc members?

From the ad I saw in the C&CC magazine the other night, I think it is a C&CC exclusive. We were intrigued by the idea as we thought it would entertain the boys (aged 8 and 10 by then!)

As a 8-14 year old i used to love it, but that was 30 odd years ago. It hasn't changed much in that time. There's plenty to entertain kids that age there and nearby

Checked the ad again just now - yes, it is for C&CC members only

Back to @JOGs original question, I quite fancy this but for some reason, the dates ring bells for me and I will have to check with the Mrs when I see her later. For anybody who does go, whatever else you do, don't miss Squeeze who play on the Saturday - IMHO, one of the most underrated (and finest) bands ever to come out of these islands. I've seen them quite a few times over the years (starting in the 1970s!) and they have never disappointed.

A very underrated band!
