Best Sat nav app for tourist routes

Hello, I’m planning a trip round the alps in July and have recommendations for touring routes through all the best places and roads. The problem I have is that Google maps and waze wants to take me on the shortest/ fastest routes and not the most scenic longer routes. Does anyone have a recommendation for the app that best allows for this?

My default is Google maps and I have all the places we’ve booked to stay saved in there but I’m struggling to find the best way to plot and save the specific routes I want to take. I can turn off motorways/tolls etc and/or I can add pit stops to try and force it to use the routes I want but is there a better way?

What do other people use?

(Please don’t say a map! I’ve bought paper maps but as we are going to DE, AT, CH and now IT, I’d need the national geographic library to cover all the small roads we want to use)

My experience of garmin both for the car and for the bike has not been great for direction (loved my garmin for recording rides etc but directions were hit and miss). Also looking for an app to go through carplay but I’ll check it out cheers

Something with OS Mapping and a drawing tool or pen to etch a chosen route would be good.

I doubt into vw. I use it on the motorbike so it’s into Garmin. But it would work on a phone. There is an app as well, but I never tried it. Now got me wondering if the app would work on CarPlay.

I don’t use the vw Sat nav, haven’t for years as it’s rubbish so I doubt it to. I’ll have a play with myRoute app and see.

I don’t want to put loads of effort into setting up the routes only to find there would have been a much easier solution so I appreciate any recommendations for other options that are available, cheers

I know what you mean.

Maybe have a look in the library, there is always a (very) remote chance someone has done a route already.

I have had a Quick Look and it doesn’t seem like it but it there is a good way of exporting the could be a solution. Alternatively, I’m wondering where we do just go old skool
