We did nearly all wild camping on our 5 week trip. It’s so easy to find a spot over there.
Were there local guidelines and did you experience any issues doing this please?
I think there is a rule about not staying within 150m of a house, and some places have signs saying no camping. But Norway has the right to roam and it looked like most Norwegians had motorhomes. It's very geared up to motorhome use over there.
That seems to be pretty much it, along the main routes they have signs with places to dump your water etc. Most people we have seen have in fact been Norwegians.

What price are campsites over there.
On average between £20 to £30 and that sometimes includes electric. Nearly all sites charge extra for showers.

You won't regret it. It's so easy to drive around and the views are mindblowing. So easy to just stay overnight next to a glacier, or a fjord, or top of a mountain next to a lake.
And there are campsites everywhere.
Thanks. Need to research a potential issue with "Daisy", my Staffordshire Bull Terrier (small 16kg's, a total cuddle monster & as far as you can get from a dangerous dog) I think banned in Denmark with potentially Norway possibly to follow. Anyway I dont want to distract from ChimpusMaximus' excellent thread so will leave that there for now and continue to enjoy their journey

Did the Atlantic Road way today and staying at a great campsite called Bud Camping. I had pre booked and the spot is amazing, right by the sea.
Reduced a few places over the next few days to reduces time spent in van etc. wife is finally keeping food down so time to enjoy some quality time.

Loving that bridge in last photo. 
We drove over it 5 times eo wifey could get the pics she wanted. ie there and back twice and a solo to continue the journey. I thought it was going to be a much longer.
