Looking for a recommendation from those with more electrical knowledge than me :)
Starter battery charger for the T6 and the cars.
Being useless with electrics no idea what model to buy 4A , 7A ? Is the higher the A the faster the charge?

Seen a few buying these. Seems can monitor from phone?

Or Ctek - but only 1 says its a car charger :-/

Thanks in advance

no matter what charger you buy, always connect the negative to somewhere other than the battery negative post so as not to upset the stop/start and battery monitoring system.

I’ve got the ctek mxs 5.0 works great.....but I’ve just brought Victron smart shunt 500 battery monitor so I a can use bluetooth to monitor battery input and output (So even if I don’t use battery charger I see whats going on ..even for my solar) but both products are at the better end of the market:thumbsup:

ps if your thinking of a leisure battery / solar addition later ....keep that in mined

What amp version would people suggest? I'm planning on using mine for my camper (EHU) and for a general van charger.

I was looking at the 7amp version but not sure if its too low for a 100ah battery

7 amps fine...ie ctek msx 7.0 will do up to 14 - 225ah battery

Hi, just curious on this. I have stop start and putting a smart charger on my ehu. Would this still cause a problem

No...
As above use a body ground and good positive connection so you dont bridge out the battery sensor.

Out of interest, does this apply to any car with stop / start? I ask as, apart from the T6, we’ve got a Honda and an Audi which both have it. Also, as asked above, what’s a suitable place for the negative crocodile clip if you can’t use the battery terminal please?

they will almost certainly have some form of shunt/monitor on the battery negative terminal.

Yes.... what @rover220 said.

What does that mean please? Apologies for asking but I've no ides what a 'shunt/monitor' is and as I've said on here before, I'm a complete numpty when it comes to car mechanical or electrical stuff.

Only matters for the starter battery assuming you know this?
Sorry, also slightly confused. Are you saying this only applies if connecting to starter battery. I have my Victron bluesmart charger connected to both positive and negative of my lithium leisure battery in my 6.1. Is this okay or should I use a ground such as the seat post instead of the negative terminal of the leisure batt. Thanks in advance.
