After discussions last week on the Beefing Up Security thread I ordered a Pedal Lock from ATE Fabrications

Arrived quickly, well packaged. This is a seriously chunky piece of kit, nicely finished. The jury is out on whether I might change the padlock at some point, but that's just me being picky. The unit supplied is a 900g solid block and I think if you fitted it with the barrel facing the engine it would be damn difficult to drill out.

Despite being exactly the correct item for a 2021 DSG I could not get it to fit around the pedals. Telephoned ATE and spoke to Ashton. I asked if someone was available to call me back on FaceTime so that they could see what I was doing wrong. She called me back within seconds, was endlessly patient and supportive and a bit later, once I had employed a large logic bomb (also known as a double espresso) and stopped being a complete dork, the lock fitted perfectly.

At no time did she make me feel silly, or that I was wasting her time (which clearly I was!) Absolutely brilliant customer service.

She and her husband run this small company - he specialises in 'the big stuff" (heavy duty welding stuff, staircases, etc.,) and she manages the pedal lock side. They do locks for all sorts of vehicles, would not hesitate to recommend.

I have the same pedal lock. Does the job nicely.

Haha! It never even crossed my mind to fit mine with the barrel facing towards the driver's seat - always fitted it barrel forwards. As you say, makes drilling-out damned difficult, but makes locking/unlocking it a PITA too.

dont snap that key they are not that strong

Now that would be a PITA if the lock was in situ at the time!
Yep the keys are easy to bend , I had the same lock on a container at my workshop and yep it snapped in the lock .
wd40 and very careful holding with pliers removed it but it was a PITA big style

I'm trying hard not to imagine having to do that whilst knelt down in an unlit driver's footwell!!
