Arrrrrgh - broke the wing mirror

Going away tomorrow morning for two weeks in the van and guess what - parking the trailer I am taking I reversed the van and caught the driver side wing mirror on a tree! Not too much surface damage but the alloy casting inside has broken the mirror is hanging down by its wires one of which is slightly damaged. Da****** Bu****** and all other words. I think I might be able to secure it enough to use and have fixed up the broken wire (perhaps) but;

- Do I need to buy a whole mirror? Heated, moving but not folding.
- Can I just buy the casting?

Anyone got one for sale! Drivers side T6 2018

Now I won't sleep well!

i had a similar thing (albeit by an idiot coming the other way on a tight road too fast) whilst on holiday a few years ago. the break happened where the aluminium bit mounts so managed to remove the fixings by the side of the road and use washers (well ring crimps cut down, as i didn't have any washers of the right size with me!) to hold the thing in place until i got back home a few weeks later where i just bought the bit for cheap on ebay and swapped it out.

£60 for whole new unit off eBay

OK. fixed up with a clever bracket I made from 4mm thread rod and an aluminium bar. Holds the mirror securely but I have determined a need a whole new unit and colour coded cover. Sorry forgot to take photos.
