Not sure if this is the right section for this post but here goes anyway. I've Just put new speakers in my van as one was seized up solid. After drilling out the rivets I had my arm inside the door to recover the bits of rivet and found this at the bottom of the door aswell. Couldn't see anything obvious it came off of and everything works. Does anyone know where this bit is supposed to go. it was inside the passenger door.

I have seen this before on the forum - It is a piece that fits in the door handle mechanism.
From what I recall it falls out when the door handle is removed, and if not noticed, it is not put back in.

That's part of the door lock.

Thanks all ..Then I'm hoping as the door handle, lock etc all feel ok that maybe someone fitted a new one. I'll keep it safe just incase.
