Android Auto. Having To Tap Phone Notification Before Set Off Every Time?

So with some updates to use voice control it seems you have to tap a mobile notification while stationary to use the feature now. Should I be having to do this every time?

Mine doesn't do that? It just works straight away? What phone? Android version are you on?

Nope.. that's on the new VAG system this is Android auto
