Amazon and Renogy

Just a word of caution for anyone thinking of buying Renogy products off Amazon.

I ordered a BT2 adapter and Lithium battery last Friday. They showed as dispatched under one tracking number.

Only the BT2 was received and the packaging clearly shows the weight shipped was 190g.

The Amazon invoice also shows as a Chinese seller so something fishy is going on. I have contacted both Renogy and Amazon and both say they will get back to me. I don think it was ever shipped.

I have also raised a dispute with my credit card company.

Renogy are Chinese. They have no UK customer services and no phone number. You can expect one reply a day :(

I have a paypal case open at the moment trying to return an item.

Renogy Chinese company.

But do hold various stock at a UK warehouse and Amazon UK.

If no stock at eith place they send directly from overseas.

I've bought tons of stuff from them.

Generally all been ok.

The mistake I made was ordering two items as they both have the same tracking number but only one was received. The label does not say 1 of 2 so I don’t think the battery was ever sent but I cannot prove anything.

I also never read the Amazon reviews as quite a few people have had similar issues.

I am hoping they will send another battery or that my credit card company is able to recover the payment. I still however need a battery as I’ve started doing the prep work and I’m going away in the van in a weeks time.

You can also buy direct from Renogy.

The battery is classed as hazardous cargo so maybe it’s going to be shipped with a specialist courier?

Hopefully you are right however the shipment was only given one tracking number and it’s been sent via 48hrs Royal Mail. Amazon have told me I have to wait another 72hrs before they can get involved.

I would be more relaxed if it was the BT2 that had gone missing but it’s a £550 battery.

The other possibility is that the vendor has dispatched it without declaring it as hazardous cargo and it’s been identified enroute and quarantined.
My local Evri courier says this is happening more and more as vendors try to save on shipping costs.

I think you are correct. I’ve taken this from the Royal Mail website. Looks conclusive to me.
