Amarok Steel Wheels

Now that I’ve seen enough picture of these wheels and decided to go this route I have a few questions from those have already taken this path.

My van is an indium grey combi with b14’s so I think I should be able to pull off the steel look fairly well.

The wheels are a fairly narrow 7.5j width which means I’d have to fit wider tyres to comply with my T32 load index of 103. This seems to give two options: 245/50/18 (104) or 255/45/18 (103) which would be the better choice? (Looks and functionality)

I believe that although the wheels are advertised as ‘silver’ they are just bare steel? In order to stop them going dull and crusty should I be looking to get them painted or powder coated? This then opens up a whole new choice of colour...

Then lastly there is the big one! To band or not? Being a T32 (although rarely loaded) I’d effectively loose the rating on the wheel but they do look cool and I could fit tyres to suit. How much would be ideal? Would increasing to 8.5j front and 9j rear sound about right?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Firstly, congratulations for finally giving in to the steel side of T6 life

I'd personally go 45's if none banded. The wheels are already painted Silver, not bare metal.
As for should you go banded. It's a calculated risk that each individual has to decide. Some people are stringent on ratings, some take a slightly more relaxed approach. Personally I don't like the fact mine have no rating, but it's on my shoulders. I've seen far more blatant disregards for regulations on vehicles.
If you are going banded, speak to Jamie at Duchy banded steels. He's done several sets for myself and @T6180, and his work is spot on, plus he will advise the ideal widths.

Lastly, if you go none banded, just use spacers to pull the wheels out towards the arches, and don't forget pics!
