Air escaping

Morning, my van has started making a whooshing noise like air escaping when accelerating, seems to be coming from the left side of the engine bay. No warning lights have come on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's possibly a split EGR pipe.

Had the front EGR pipe split at the flange yesterday on me, managed to do a temp fix to get me home with some magic metal. But on removing today the end was absolutely covered in crap. Is this a normal amount to expect? Oh and is there an easier way to get to the torx bolt on far side? It was...
