Ad blue issues

Please give more information about your vehicle T? engine date of manufacture connected modifications it will quicken any response to your plight from others. More information on issue please.
I do not know anything about any of the readers unfortunate but Dellmassive put up a post concerning resetting by disconnecting the battery completely and any other batteries and only then shorting the two leads together, this results in a reset. It is important not to have any other power source connected. just in case they are short circuited or influences by adding to the circuit
Oh and forgot . I am sorry that your break and travel’s are troubled I am sure it is stressful and concerning. I hope that more specific answers and questions come up for you and that you can be on you way again soon. Are you covered by AA, RAC or any other Motoring Organisation that can give you assistance while in the EU?

Hi it's a 2017 110bhp. On our way down through France the ad blue light came on saying 650 miles to go, which I thought was odd as I had recently put 20 litres in. When I did top up at 200 miles to go i only managed to put à few litres in and then it overflowed. I tried to reset with my Carista but would come back straight away.
I have taken it to a few garages and they can't do anything until late August, the chap in the vw garage tried to help us today but couldn't reset it.
we are with the RAC through our bank and they have been pretty appalling, they were supposed to be getting our van tower to one of their approved garages but that hasn't happened lots of apologies but no action, let's see what tomorrow brings.

Sounds like it's been overfilled and might need a garage to sort it, sorry for your predicament

After filling, did you do the ignition on for 30 seconds before starting thing?

Do you know that you've definitely overfilled your Adblu tank only we had this last year while at Isle de Rey where it dropped from 4,000 miles to the countdown of doom.
I put in 7 litres of Adblu so the bastid obviously didn't have anywhere near 4,000 miles of Adblu before we started the trip.
Anyway we reversed our holiday because the countdown wouldn't clear... until 80kms later, then we're back at 5,500 miles but on our way back to the UK.
If you've definitely overfilled it then try and siphon off some and drive around in circles if you have to while sloshing the Adblu around and hopefully diluting any urea crystals building on the sensor or the tank itself... that was our case, I feel for you mate.

I agree although my vehicle is different and later, 2019 199bhp T6 Caravelle 4Motion the hand book states after filling with add blue do not over fill, screw on cap, turn ignition on but do not start for 30 seconds! Only then start the engine! this is to allow the system to recognise the refill!!!!!
That might be the problem. The vehicle does not recognise the refilled Ad-blue. I wonder if he goes through the procedure of turning on the ignition and waiting 30sec or so the starting all might be OK???
I'm pretty sure the problem started the time before I over filled it as the ad blue warning came on a few hundred miles after I put 20 litres in previously and didn’t overflow.
Anyway like I said I can't drive it anymore or RAC won't play ball.

tell them it’s reset, head off to Calais. If it doesn’t reset on the way call the RAC again when you get there. How far from Calais are you?

I've said it before on here that these Adblue warnings can just turn into a game of chicken. That said, I think I might have started to really worry at 200 miles - the last time it happened to us (last month and about 700 miles from Calais!) it went from a 650 adblue range (which I knew was wrong) to 450 over about 75 miles driving before resetting itself back to 5500. My van is due a service later this month and they're going to be looking at adblue and an associated check engine light at the same time but I suspect there won't be anything to see on the MFD so they will say there's no problem which will be very annoying as my warranty expires at the end of the month. Of course, they could always plug the computer into the system to find out what's really going on but I reckon that beyond the average VW technician.

Just been towed from a vw garage (as RAC would not let me drive it) to a RAC approved garage and the chap was saying it is probably my ad blue sensor but they just change the complete tank he seems to do a lot of not only, he said Renault and Peugeot were even worse.
I did mention adblue delete, which looks like the route i may go down as it will be quicker and he is able to do it.

Good that you are OK hope you can get home without too much stress and that the time passes fast and the vehicle is sorted for you.
