Hello - I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some help - I've checked the previous threads and can't see anything totally simiar to my tale of woe, apologies for the length of the post.....
I have a 2018 2.0 TDI T6 converted into a campervan, bought it last November.
I took note of how to fill up with Ad-blue, previous fill ups been fine.
The most recent fill up was not registered - I tried all the things suggested to try and make it recognise the fill up - but it was not recognised, mileage countdown continued but no engine warning lights.
Took it to a garage to have a software update to see if that would fix it.
The software update flagged an issue with the EGR - on investigation the EGR was found to be unplugged and in all likelihood coded out. The EGR was plugged back in but shown to be faulty.
The seller of the van paid for the EGR to be replaced but this did not resolve the Ad-Blue issue.
I took the van to the main VW dealership. They ran diagnostics and said the Ad-Blue control module needed replacing. The was replaced but this did not resolve the Ad-Blue issue.
The VW dealership are now saying that they think the issue might be with the ECU. They have said they will reflash it but if that does not work they think the ECU will need to be replaced but are not 100% sure this will resolve the issue plus I know this is expensive.
I can understand the ECU might need to be reflashed, which I understand means returning it to its factory settings. I'm just not sure why it would need to be replaced - does this sound like a sensible solution?
I have asked whether it could be the sensor in the Ad-Blue tank that is faulty but this has been dismissed.
I am feeling at a bit of a loss - the van has been with VW for nearly 4 weeks now - any suggestions or help gratefully received - I do not want to map things out again.
Thank you in advance
Catherine
