Hi I have the ABS light coming on on startup followed by the Skid? light a little after any ideas what this warning is for?
16 reg van serviced by dealer. MOT and serviced last spring but little use since then.
Both lights came on a recent trip but went out soon after they come on, now they don’t go out I’ll check tomorrow as I have a slightly longer drive.
I checked and topped up the fluid can’t see any leaks..
The wisdom of the forum would be appreciate, before I line the dealers pocket yet again.

many thanks

It could be a number of things in the braking and ABS system like a faulty wheel speed sensor etc.
Really it needs to be scanned.

There are a limited number of things you can do, but I would check each of the cables going to each wheel speed sensor on the back of the wheel hubs.

Hi my van went into a local garage who fitted a new sensor to the front wheel and reset the van, all works well £160 so happy enough.

I am suffering a similar fate at the moment. Dashboard pings, flashes the TPMS yellow symbol with the words “TPMS currently unavailable” accompanied by traction control/ESP light illuminated and ABS light illuminated. First time it came on I checked all four tyre pressures (which were fine) and reset the TPMS in the MFD. It then came on and turned off 3 times last weekend on a 150mile drive. The 4th time it came on it has stayed on ever since. Pretty sure it has to be a wheel speed sensor for it to trigger all three of these systems at the same time, but no idea which wheel, and Carista can’t diagnose. Need to get it in to my local VW/Audi specialist to figure it out.

can someone point me to how I create a post

Just had the same on my 2018 startline, ABS, traction control and tyre pressure monitoring lights on at the same time. Scanned it, rear right ABS sensor, replacement from ECP £35 (Pagid make). SWMBO collected and I fitted in my lunch hour. Cleared faults and all seems fine.

Always happens at the most inopportune moment!

Exactly the same has just happened to my 2017 T6. Had it checked today and it was a faulty ABS sensor caused by a failing wheel bearing that was pushing grease up onto the sensor. Bearing and sensor replaced for £250
