Anyone had any issues with this device ?

I bought one from Ablemail during the week, and have tried to get it fitted and operational with my Ablemail 12-12-30 charger.
I have followed the instructions to the letter, and whilst the App can see the device, it won't connect to it properly, with the error "No serial communication".

I have emailed Ablemail, but of course it's the weekend, so I don't expect a response quickly.

Anyone else had similar problems ?

Thanks,

Pete

Thanks for that, I've tried it with engine running, and with a mains battery charger connected to the starter battery to ensure the Ablemail charger is active.
Getting a bluetooth connection isn't the issue.

The suggestion from Ablemail is that it is an incompatibility with the latest version of the App, and my older Ablemail charger. Will see what they say hopefully soon.

Martin at Ablemail gives great customer service in my experience.
I’ve rung him a couple of times with queries and he’s talked me through solutions.

Turns out my (older model) Ablemail charger is not compatible with the Bluetooth module, unless I send it back for re-programming. Which is a pain as it is in use, and mounted under my driver’s seat.

Having had my ABB07 for too long I decided to fit it tonight. I'm having issues with it communicating. I spoke to Jonathan at Ablemail today about if it would be able to reduce the 13v LB law when running and he assured me it would do what I wanted. Its not playing nicely at the moment.
With so little sun at the moment the AMT stops working when the LB goes under 13v. I've turned the fridge down a bit to temporarily cure the issue...

What's the issue?.. you can't connect over BT?

Or you looking to change the Preset?

To lower the LB min voltage threshold?

It's exactly @Pete C 's issue above. I want to lower the LB's min voltage threshold as you say
If the BT unit won't talk the the AMT unit?.. then you can post it to Ablemail Jonathan and he will update the Firmware to the latest version and send it back next day.. (I've done this myself and I think BoroBoy has also done this)

The previous version with stud terminals defo needed a FW update.

Thank you Mr Massive, I'll have a word with Jonathan again today. I'm tempted to buy another which has been upgraded then do the swap, then send my old one for rejuvenation and sell it on to a lucky member!

Just ordered an AMT12-2B, £138. I will have a 'normal' AMT12-2 available should anyone want one cheaper! Oh, and an ABB07 which won't work with the existing AMT12-2 until it has been updated by Jonathan at Ablemail. I'll sort out the upgrade postage malarkey.

For a link for the new one?.... Is it the Pro with built in BT?
