907 gas refill cost

Well, with all this excitement I got FOMO so thought I’d go and weigh my bottle - it’s the one that came with the camper but has lasted years so far.

First off the ball valve clearly doesn’t seal properly so the thing had a non-stop hiss and smell of gas once the regulator was removed.

Never mind, I thought, I’ll be quick. Had the scales out ready. Damn scales would turn on but not weigh, promptly turning back off. So now I need to find a battery for those.

Shoved the gas bottle back in with the regulator screwed up nice and tight for now. It’s in a gas storage box which is vented to the outside. No hissing when it’s all screwed back together so I guess it’s OK for now.

Got to work out if it’s worth just binning this bottle off for a refill while they are on offer? Not sure what’s left but it doesn’t sound like much when given a calibrated ‘shake’.

I had a 907 hissy sealing ball a few years ago, but with a gentle nudge with a wooden skewer stick it seated itself correctly.
Even so, at the current price it's a good time to change!

I looked briefly for something non-sparking to poke in the hole but found nothing.

We usually have a stash of chopsticks from Wagamamas but they get used for cleaning plug holes and stirring paint… and as we’ve been decorating lately it’s clearly time to order another Wagamamas.

I've not had sticky balls myself.

But I'd imagine a squirt of WD40 and a good prod-around with a wooden pushy thingy should have the valve free flowing again.

I've done the same as above, swapped out an old mankey bottle for a brand new shiny 907.

Must replace an empty 904.when does the offer expire?
I'm not sure to be honest? I didn't ask them.

The offer is not on the website, nor was it marked up on the shelf in the store,

I just called up and they said £26.50 and that's what it went through the till as.

Someone will need to call a local branch of GO outdoors and ask them when they offer finishes.. and if it applies to 9:04 bottles as well?

The marketing strategy obviously worked well, as sominow my bill come to £75 ?

:mexican wave:
