And yes. It's a different DSG box, with propshaft and linkages, plus the rear haldex diff unit, plus different suspension setup at rear, possible different exhaust rear section, plus all the electrical and new modules.

I've seen a similar thing done my one of the guys in our workshop. You can't buy a BMW M240i in the UK with 4wd, but you can in Europe. So he brought one and converted the dashboard/pedals over to RHD. We work for BMW engineering so we have access to CAD etc so it was all planned and done in a few days.
I think it's possible and feasible on a T6 if you can do all the work yourself. If you pay someone, it would cost far too much.

sell the 2wd and buy a 4motion. the cost and work required renders this pointless when we are talking about vans.

I'm no expert but it's going to be extremely challenging and economically I just don't see how it can stack up.
The more I think about it, the less it makes sense!!!!

I converted an RC car from 4wd to 6wd and that cost me more than I'd tell my wife!! I can only imagine the cost of 2wd to 4wd on a T6!!

Yes it’s been done, no change from £10k though.

There’s a TSi that was converted by Kartechnic in Poole.

525hp! Wow. It can be done though... hmmm. 10k is probably about the difference between a 4mo and 2wd from the factory isn't it? My browser at work is too old to use the configurator or I'd check.

4-Mo petrol was never an option in the UK, but they were in Europe. Not sure what would be cheaper, lhd to rhd conversion or 2wd to 4wd.

I can imagine the 204tsi being a real handful with only fwd, forget trying to tow anything heavy.

I wonder if the £10K includes labour, I'd have thought that's just the parts, I might be wrong.
Clearly it's not a job for a Saturday morning with the van on ramps on the drive.

Hello.
I’m looking for information what needs to be done to make all electronics work properly when a 2wd is converted to 4wd. I mean wiring and programing, is there some big issues or some specific parts needed? Mechanical part is pretty straight forward, would like to preapere as much information as possible before start.
Would be nice to get in touch with someone who has done that kind of transformation.
Was looking in forum and generaly on internet, there is not so much information other than everyone sugests do not do it. That I allready know, but my situation is different and it’s profitible for me to do it.

VW T5.1 being upgraded to T6 4motion running gear

Well thats an intersting start here .... just as the title states .... so my 15plate T5.1 has a knackered DSG box, n/s stub axle moves up/down, massive clonk/bang out of park etc ... vibration in high gear at low speed .. swishing sound from a dry n/s diff bearing... I couldn't find the same...
