204bhp CXEB specialist diesel/turbo diagnostics

Hi, hope you can help - I'm looking for recommendations for garages within reasonable reach of Oxford who can do specialist diesel/turbo diagnostics for my 2017 T6 204bhp CXEB T32 DSG 4wd transporter. Broke down last week with loss of power, orange coil light flashing, black smoke out of exhaust on hot motorway journey towing. Also has high oil usage (added 2 litres during a 970 mile round trip) - has had this for over a year. EGR blanking plate fitted 18 months ago and engine remapped. Fearing the worst but would like full diagnostic tests done to check turbo/dpf issues before diving into new engines.

Retro Resus is 127 miles away, they know their stuff and also supply engines / turbochargers.
I think with that level of oil consumption you have joined the list of CXEB failures. Remapping for more power on an already unreliable highly tuned engine isn’t goint to end well I’m afraid.

The black smoke could indicate a turbo problem,

And the high oil use on a cxcb could be engine wear.

Looks like im the latest patient of the CEXB engine issues.

(possibly the 2016-2018 range as there is a mention that the CXEB Block etc was revised in 2019)

(the CXEC 199ps Bi-Turbo was released 2019> and revised )

in sort it looks like its either Turbo or Engine failure.

You need to talk to your bank before a garage - another failed cxeb and to have it remapped is Russian roulette
