2017 T6 Multiple Phones?

Hello everyone. I’ve just bought a T6 panel van for business use, it’s the highline model so I’m able to answer my phone from the steering wheel and the centre touchscreen, my question is; Am I able to connect more than one phone to the vans Bluetooth connection? I’m looking to buy a second iPhone for business use and ideally I’d like to connect my personal and business phones to use them both handsfree. Any advice/ideas would be great. Thanks in advance

You cannot pair 2 devices to the head unit at the same time. It will import contacts, read messages and make calls (if given the right permissions) to the currently connected device.

You can use (and the head unit will remember) more than one device but they have to be connected one at a time and not simultaneously.

D.

There is an option in the bluetooth menu however that allows you to select two devices simultaneously for different functions. I connect my phone for contacts and making/taking calls. But I can select my tablet for bluetoothing music. Pressing the phone and media buttons allows you to switch between both once you've set it up.

But afraid only one can be used for phone functions at any one time as @Dilbert says.

I think the above is true only with two “basic” head units:
Composition Audio (monochrome display), and
Composition Colour (5” colour display)
I haven’t tried those above but that’s how it’s also documented in The T6 Infotainment & Car-Net SSP-562 (on page 13) which is available at Forum’s downloads at The T6 Infotainment & Car-Net SSP-562

With head units:
Composition Media (6.3” colour display), and
Discover Media (6.3” colour display + navigation)
the situation is different.

These can have two phones paired simultaneously for phone calls. Thus phone calls from two phones on these head units work seamlessly. Incoming calls from either one connect seamlessly through head unit.

I have had both of these head units in use quite long time and very pleased how the two phone configuration works. Just keeping Bluetooth switched on both phones and step in the van, no need to do work on any buttons to get both phones hooked to the system ready to receive. And the most important function - it shows me that I have both phones with me :)

I have disco media nav headunit and it will pair two phones at a time
You can see both phones on the headunit screen and can select which one is primary and shows contacts etc

I didn’t know this either, just been out to the van to set up the music from my iPad whilst my phone does the calls
